Rule of thumb: Replace 1000mh bulbs after 10 to 12 months of 18 hour days.
Replace hp sodium bulbs after 24 months of 12 hour days.
A 220 volt ballast will draw the same watts and will draw half the amperes of a 110 volt ballast.
