Correct position: When looking into socket, notch should be at o'clock. |
If you have received a bulb that is designed to be operated in a horizontal position only (high output halide bulbs only - small tab on the side screw base), your socket must be a special yellow, position oriented one that holds the arc tube correctly for horizontal operation. Operation in any other orientation will cause substantial reduction in bulb life and lumen output. Position oriented bulbs are the high output halide bulbs. Sodium and standard halide bulbs operated in any socket or position. |
